Abstract

On a choisi délibérément de mettre de côté les références internes à la géographie, dans la présentation d'une "archéologie d'un savoir" personnel. Le retour sur le choix de la géographie est l'occasion d'une réflexion sur les rapports à l'histoire et aux autres sciences sociales. On s'interroge aussi sur les liens entre la curiosité pour ces disciplines et l'intérêt pour l'espace mondial comme objet géographique. Les rapports et les références sont ensuite précisés, à propos de l'histoire, de l'anthropologie, des synthèses transversales de certains grands auteurs. On fait état de l'intérêt porté aux "grandes fresques", malgré leurs dangers. Dans tout le cheminement décrit, on relève le poids d'un "effet générationnel", d'une expérience qui a incité à la fois à garder des distances vis à vis des grandes grilles de lecture, mais sans les rejeter complètement.

Owing to a deliberate choice, references internal to geography have been omitted in this presentation of a personal « archeology of knowledge ». Going back to the choice of geography as a filed for work, gives an occasion for reflections on the relations established with history and other social sciences. Questions are also asked about links between a curiosity for those disciplines and a special interest for the global world as a geographical object. Relations and references are then given a more precise attention, specially concerning history, anthropology, and transdisciplinary synthesis due to a few major authors. In the whole path thus described, it is found a « generation effect », an experience that has induced at the same time to keep at a distance some main general frameworks of analysis, without rejecting them entirely.
