Abstract
For me, talking about theology in Cuba means put myself as a human being who belongs to a culture. A culture that, according to Fernando Ortiz, co-mo ajiaco like soupy: a product that is a mixture of many elements; each gives flavor and co-lor; each gives and takes from the other end to end in a single product with a unique and distinctive flavor. That mix, this diversity makes us as Cubans, and I want it from my reflection. For me, theology is not a reflection that begins at the academy. To get to the academy and be seen in volumes and volumes, reflection must first be part of everyday experience. That is why our theological task is always determined not only by our context, our history and our culture, but also by factors of gender, race and class that shape us as human beings and are inextricably linked to our lives and our experience faith. I took my first steps as a student of theology at a time when women did not studied. It was a rich time, full of disquiet at the changes taking place in our society. I remember places like the Seminary of Matanzas, the Stu-dent Christian Movement and the Council of Churches itself constituted centers of reflection and dialogue in which the richness of the mo-ment that we lived stimulated and inspired"]
