Abstract
The Washington Post titled his note (Howard Schneider, 01/03/13) "An astonishing mea culpa chief economist of the International Monetary Fund austerity." Major newspapers of the world used similar terms. It was no wonder. In a report entitled "Errors in forecasts of growth and fiscal multipliers," Olivier Blanchard (Chief Economist) and Richard Leigh, report that measured what happened to the forecast impact of tax cuts and tax increases, implemented in 26 European countries since 2010, with the support of the same Fund, the European economic Commission, and the European Bank called troika"]
