En un informe denominado “Errores en las previsiones de crecimiento y multiplicadores fiscales”, Olivier Blanchard (Chief economist) y Richard Leigh, reportan que midieron qué paso con los pronósticos de incidencia de los recortes fiscales y aumentos de impuestos, aplicados en 26 países europeos desde el 2010, con el apoyo del mismo Fondo, la Comisión económica Europea, y el Banco europeo, la llamada troika" ["The Washington Post titled his note (Howard Schneider, 01/03/13) "An astonishing mea culpa chief economist of the International Monetary Fund austerity."
