Abstract
I have been asked to speak about how to confront the empire. This is a big topic for which I have no easy answers. When we talk about face to the rule is necessary to identify what we mean by the term "empire". ¿The government of the United States (and its European satellites), the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization and multinational corporations? Or are you talking about something more than that? The empire has grown in many countries other subsidiary heads, several sequels of nationalism, religious bigotry, fascism and, of course, terrorism. All this goes hand in hand with the project of corporate globalization. Let me explain what I mean. India, the world's largest democracy, currently ranks first in the globalization project. Its "market" of one billion people has been traced by the World Trade Organization. The corporatisation and privatization have been welcomed by the government and the elite of this country. It is no coincidence that the Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, the Minister of "Divestment", the men who signed the deal with Enron in India, those who are selling the country's infrastructure to multinational corporations, those who want to privatize water, electricity, oil, coal, steel, health, education and telecommunications, are all members or admirers of RSS.1 SSR is a right wing, an ultranationalist Indian union that has been openly admirer of Hitler and his methods"]
