Abstract
O desempenho parece menos real, menos próprio e menos digno de nossa admiração por isto, é contrário à dignidade intrínseca da pessoa e por isto deveria ser proibida" ["Soon athletes will begin using genetic manipulation, such as doping, to pump up their muscles and to increase their speed. Genetic doping has raised intense discussions and questions regarding scientific and ethical issues in sport. Some technologies for genetic improvement of athletic performance call into question the very dignity of the performance of the people who use it. The performance seems less real, less personal and less worthy of our admiration. It is contrary to the intrinsic dignity of the person and therefore should be prohibited"]
