Bioethics in the arab world

Abstract

"It might be too early to attempt evaluating the current status and perspectives of the development of Bioethics in the Eastern Mediterranean region, particularly in countries with mainly Islamic religious confession; however the analysis of the historical antecedents, the recent local and regional initiatives, as well as our own experience in the University of Aden have stimulated us to prepare this report with the purpose of offering an information that might not be well-known in the Latin American environment and through which contributing to the mutual recognition and the dialogue among cultures."
