"En este artículo, reflexionamos acerca de la naturaleza y alcances del trabajo de fin de estudios de la carrera de Trabajo Social de la UCSH, denominado “Seminario de Grado”. Durante casi 10 años de práctica docente en este campo, hemos intentado responder con mediana claridad a la pregunta qué es y puede ser un ejercicio de este tipo. Ello, pues a pesar de los esfuerzos desplegados por los equipos responsables de satisfacer dicha interrogante, las respuestas siguen siendo todavía insuficientes. A partir de la lectura de los programas que algunas Escuelas de Trabajo Social del país han elaborado para orientar esta actividad curricular, dos parecen ser, grosso modo, las tendencias al momento de abordar el tema. La primera, se orientaría a comprender el Seminario de Grado como una actividad donde el alumno debe dar prueba de incorporación efectiva de una serie de habilidades relacionadas con la investigación social, en lo que clásicamente se conoce como sus vertientes cualitativa y cuantitativa. La segunda, lo identificaría con la realización de un informe cuya fuente directa es la práctica y que daría cuenta en forma sistemática, de uno o varios aspectos de ella susceptibles de ser problematizados a la luz de una concepción compleja de lo social y de la Intervención Social en ese campo. Para el Departamento de Trabajo Social de la UCSH, el Seminario de Grado, o más bien, cada Seminario de Grado, se situaría al interior de un continuo que va entre estas dos posibilidades, respondiendo siempre a la singularidad y especificidad de lo que llamaríamos un problema “en” y “para” Trabajo Social y cuyo horizonte sería, en definitiva, contribuir a mejorar la intervención social que se lleva a cabo respecto de ese problema."Date

The Social Context of Corporate Social Responsibility: Enriching Research With Multiple Perspectives and Multiple LevelsAthanasopoulou, Andromachi; Selsky, John (SAGE Publications, 2015-05)This article examines the role of social context in corporate social responsibility (CSR) research. The authors direct attention to three major perspectives in organization studies—institutional, cultural, and cognitive—that bear on the social context and explore how these perspectives are used in CSR research. These perspectives are framed as representative of the levels at which CSR may be analyzed, and each perspective is associated with a certain level of social context: the institutional perspective relates to the external social context, the cultural perspective relates to the organizational level, and the cognitive perspective relates to the individual level. The authors demonstrate how the CSR field can benefit by combining or integrating multiple perspectives that bear on the social context, and by engaging in more explicit multilevel analysis of the social context within which CSR practicesunfold. Three promising avenues for future CSR research are outlined: social ecology, cross-sector social partnerships, and strategy-as-practice. The authors argue that these avenues transcend levels and perspectives (even allowing for the combination of the three schools) and offer the prospect of more context-sensitive CSR research.
