Abstract

"Tal como está redactado y promulgado (1983) el vigente Código de Derecho Canónico, en él se da pie para hacerse esta pregunta: ¿se atribuye la Iglesia católica a sí misma un poder sin límites en este mundo? Es evidente que en la Iglesia a nadie se le ocurre semejante cosa. Porque, entre otras razones, los católicos sabemos que la Iglesia no tiene poder para matar, odiar o hacer lo que prohíbe el Evangelio. El problema está en que, como sabemos por la historia, la Iglesia ha gestionado las cosas de manera que, con frecuencia, ha hecho (y sigue haciendo) no pocas cosas que contradicen literalmente lo que manda el Evangelio.
