Abstract

"Han pasado 40 años desde aquella solemne y alborozada clausura del concilio del año 1965. Los padres conciliares volvían optimistas para sus casas, llevando en sus corazones la vivencia inolvidable del Vaticano II. La Iglesia entera se había puesto a examen y había sabido escuchar los clamores que le demandaban urgentemente un «agiornamento». Comenzaba un nuevo caminar. Eran ciertamente muchos los hábitos heredados,que le forzaban casi a mirar al pasado,pero el espíritu la sacudió poderosamente e impulsó a avanzar sin miedo. Fueron los años primeros,en que se planificó para todos la renovación. Y los frutos no tardaron en aparecer. La Iglesia se descentró,se salió de sí misma y realizó una gran operación de cercanía,de encarnación, de diálogo,de colaboración y de compromiso con el mundo,sobre todo con el mundo de los más pobres" ["It's been 40 years since that solemn and jubilant close of the council of 1965.
