Abstract
"La arquitectura y el arte sagrados se vinculan con los símbolos universales, que por ser primordiales, se presentan como transculturales. Su interpretación difiere conforme la construcción de las representaciones sociales que las diferentes culturas han hecho de ellos, pero conservan un carácter teofánico que los imbuye de la dimensión de trascendencia. Las “Verdades Eternas”, mitos o arquetipos universales, son “presentidas” a través del “Mundus Imaginalis” o Mundo de los Símbolos, mundo teofánico en el que los arquetipos en forma de imágenes son reflejados en el alma del ser humano. El conocimiento de la arquitectura y el arte sagrado, involucra al término Hierognosis, (del riego) que significa “conocimiento de lo sagrado”. El fin del arte sagrado es reflejar realidades supra formales a través de elementos simples y primordiales. Asimismo, arquitectura y simbología están atravesadas por la función. La función está ligada a la expresión y ambas pueden ser abordadas desde la percepción. Arquitectura y el Arte sagrado se diferencian de otras formas artísticas denominadas “arte profano”. En todas las religiones existe un arte y una arquitectura sagrados, por el objeto, la finalidad, y el modo de ejecución. Sus funciones, expresiones, significado y finalidad vinculan a quienes al contemplar – habitar, anhelan la religación con la dimensión sagrada de lo divino" ["The architecture and sacred art are linked with symbols universal, that being paramount, are presented as transcultural. Function is linked to both the expression and can be approached from perception. Architecture and sacred art is differ from other art forms called "profane art". in all religions there is a sacred art and architecture, the object, the purpose and execution mode. Its functions, expressions, meaning and aim to link to behold - live, crave religation with the sacred dimension of the divin"]
