Abstract

"Em meio às tendências individualistas da sociedade contemporânea, sobretudo a partir da dinâmica que afeta alguns grupos religiosos, com suas estratégias para manter ou adaptar sua abrangência, requer que se compreenda a trajetória religiosa do sentido da caridade, no decorrer da história de diferentes tradições religiosas. Nesse processo, a prática da caridade foi passando por profundas alterações e sendo ressemantizada pelas interpenetrações, rupturas e diferenciações advindas da pluralidade religiosa brasileira e das adaptações sociopolíticas de cada contexto. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de discutir até que ponto a intenção proselitista pode ser uma perspectiva peculiar em cada grupo. Para isso, o objeto de pesquisa estende-se à compreensão de como o ideal de caridade é vivenciado pelos adeptos de quatro vertentes religiosas: catolicismo, kardecismo, umbandismo e o neopentecostalismo, representado, aqui, pela Universal do Reino de Deus. Para tal será feito um levantamento bibliográfico. A hipótese deste estudo é de que, nessas práticas, a intenção sociopolítica subjaz à caridade desenvolvida pelas variadas vertentes religiosas. Busca-se, com esse enfoque comparativo, delinear o mapeamento de cada tipo de assistencialismo ou caridade" ["Amid the individualistic tendencies of contemporary society, especially from the dynamics that affects some religious groups, with their strategies to maintain or adjust its scope, it is required that one understands the trajectory of the religious sense of charity, throughout the history of different religious traditions. In this process, the practice of charity was undergoing profound changes and being re-semanticized by interpenetrations, ruptures and resulting differences of the Brazilian religious plurality Brazilian and of the adaptations of each sociopolitical context. This paper aims to discuss to what extent the proselytizing purpose can be a peculiar perspective in each group. For this, the object of research extends the understanding of how the ideal of charity is experienced by religious supporters of four strands: Catholicism, spiritualism, umbandismo, and Neopentecostalism, represented here by the Universal Kingdom of God Church. This will be done bibliographically. The hypothesis is that in these practices, the socio-political intentions underlies the charity developed by these various religious strands.
