Abstract
This article analyses the aging process of transsexuals and its specific needs of caring in public health services. Its approach is based on a perspective founded by the bioethics of protection, i.e., an unconditional reception of those whom are deed as vulnerable and their need of an unconditional hospitality. The method is the conceptual and theoretical critical analysis. Along the article, categories as “vulnerability”, “susceptibility”, “vulneration”, and the Latin-American perspective of bioethics, the so-called “bioethics of protection” are employed. We therefore conclude that, as a result of that aging process, that population becomes not only susceptible beings but vulnerable ones, thus subjected to violence. When a transsexual person, through her aging process, is labeled as vulnerable, she is no longer labeled “unspeakable” and, as an extension, abject. For the unconditional hospitality approach she is to be rewarded with a judicial status as the necessary condition to discard any kind of discrimination of that population"]
