Ritual Gomatere

Abstract

This article discuss about the practice of shamanism in Tugutil by Gomatere ritua. Gomatere is the ritual of medicine that often still done by Tugutil to diagnose, medicinize, even to prevent the disease. Until now, Gomatere ritual is also still be an alternative in the Tugutil system of medicine, especially in the diseases that are considered to be hard recovery. The medicine of Gomatere ritual performed by a shaman with the trance condition, when being in the trance condition, shaman believed to be a capable to diagnose and medicinize various kinds of disease. Although currently Tugutil introduced with a system of modern medical services, but they still have reasons which are refused the new values in their traditional medical system. It shows that they still believe values of the medical system that is inherited from generation to generation because still have contribution. Conserve the traditional medical system means that they still defend the rituals that related to medicine and prevent the disease
