Abstract
With regard to the work of the sociologist, the practice of ethics is, of course, related to a set of skills and principles that are taught and gradually internalized throughout the academic training, and later developed and validated in different contexts of action. Transversely, it is guided by principles shared among the community of sociologists, which adhere through institutional belonging and their codes of ethics and professional conduct (eg APS, ISA). This article specifically we rely on the analysis of a case extracted from the qualitative study conducted by the author at the time of his PhD in Sociology, later integrated and exploited in social research methodology classes that she teaches in higher education. While this example reveals the challenges behind a seemingly simple operation as assigning pseudonyms, empirically illustrates how the ethical issues do not stop at the time of data collection; instead, they are transverse to the data analysis and writing results. The awareness of the complexity of anonymization practices, contrary to the assumption that this is a "quick" and "easy" task, you must remember the investigator, teacher and student of the need to meet the multiple - and sometimes conflicting - rights and duties that the professionally (a) sociologist (a) is compromised (a). For this reason, it is important to keep the ethical issues as a topic for reflection and discussion in the context of higher education"]
