Abstract
Perspectiva-se actualmente que a metodologia de vitrificação possa vir a ter uma elevada eficiência em termos de viabilidade após congelação e descongelação de ovócitos" ["Cryopreservation of germ cells and human embryos can be analyzed from a strictly technical perspective, and considering the legal circumstances and the ethical implications involved. Regarding the male gametes, the technique is consensual ethical point of view, is regulated and is technically simple. However, this is not true of the female gametes, wherein the programmed slow freezing before immersion in liquid nitrogen at -196 ° C have proven to be ineffective, with reduced gamete viability after thawing. It is expected that the present vitrification methodology might have a high efficiency in terms of viability after freezing and thawing of oocytes"]
