Abstract
The statistics of legal abortion in Portugal, after the law of 2007 indicates, the last three years (2008 to 2010), in terms of large numbers, stabilization at a level of nearly 20,000 abortions / year - last year, 53 abortions / day or one abortion every 27 minutes. This represents about 20% of live births. The total corresponds annually to about 500-600 abortions on the grounds of the 1984 law and about 19,000 per option of the woman. These official figures are segmented and are reviewable under various angles. Comparing the data from 2009 to 2010, the only age group where reported an increase of miscarriages and females between 35 and 39 years of age (2,934 to 3,057). A socio-professional analysis, was among the "experts and Scientific Intellectuals of Occupations "there was an increase over sharp (1,111 to 1,304), in a year which saw slight fall global. No data are available, or known studies of illegal abortion which subsequently subsists to the law of 2007. The Ministry of Health did not respond to specific questions from the cds. And there are analyzes to estimate with objective basis, the overall evolution of the back and the situation prior to 2007 law"]
