Abstract
No es que antes hubiese sociedades "sin historia", pero faltaba el acto de ruptura, la apropiación que permite en cada caso llamarla nuestra, aunque se trate de un nosotros imaginario" ["Commemorates the bicentennial one of those rare moments that offer the chance to cause a cut in the continuum of time, a disruption in the normal course of events, and give birth to a new experience of freedom. That event, on the other hand, opens the fabric of what we call our history. Not that earlier societies had "no history" but lacked the act of rupture, allowing ownership in each case call us, even if it is an imaginary Us"]
