Abstract
The Prince is a political text founder of modernity. Disclosure was so controversial that it is quite difficult to get an exact idea about the own ideas of Machiavelli in relation to the purposes of his work. Created from the repercussions to the text of the Florentine thinker, the concept of Machiavellianism identifies the modern political thought in such a way that the emergence of the terms and sovereignty States and associated him almost interchangeably. I will analyze some of the major immediate reactions to Prince to show the genesis of Machiavellianism in the scenario of interpretative conflicts in dispute in the boiling of the modern state. My goal is to support the thesis that the thought of Machiavelli was instrumental in the breaks that gave rise to political modernity, regardless of their real intentions"]
