Abstract
"Se na segunda vinda de Jesus, o resplendor de Sua glória destrói os ímpios, por quê, após o Milênio, Ele o faz com "fogo eterno"? O que é o fogo eterno? Quão eterno ele é? E o que significa o "lago de fogo"? Tem estes termos alguma relação? É este fogo literal? Como Deus vindica Seu caráter ao executar o Seu juízo no dia final, após o Milênio, com o extermínio dos ímpios? Este estudo procura estabelecer a relação entre a glória de Deus e as situações de juízo registradas na Bíblia, sobretudo a do juízo final. Nesta pesquisa, a glória divina é apresentada como um “fogo consumidor” para o pecado e pecadores, sendo ela mesma a causa da destruição deles. A humanidade caída não pode suportar a manifestação de Deus, devido ao próprio pecado, em contraste com a santidade de Deus. Assim como o shekinah, uma visível manifestação da glória do Senhor, era a causa de destruição dos rebeldes no deserto, assim será quando Cristo Se manifestar em Sua segunda vinda antes do Milênio e, especialmente, após os mil anos, quando executar o Seu juízo final" [If the second coming of Jesus, the radiance of His glory destroys the wicked, why, after the Millennium, He does so with "eternal fire"? What is the eternal fire? How eternal it is? And what does the "lake of fire"? These terms have some relationship? Is this literal fire? How God vindicates His character to execute His judgment on the final day after the Millennium, with the death of the wicked? This study seeks to establish the relationship between the glory of God and the situations of judgment recorded in the Bible, especially the final judgment. In this survey, the divine glory is presented as a "consuming fire" to sin and sinners, and is itself the cause of their destruction. Fallen mankind can not bear the manifestation of God due to sin itself, in contrast to God's holiness. As the Shekinah, the visible manifestation of the Lord's glory, was the cause of destruction of the rebels in the desert, so it will be when Christ shall appear at His second coming before the Millennium, and especially after the millennium, when running his judgment end.]
