Abstract
Today we fight in favor of costly grace. "These words, so often mentioned, are the first expressions of The Cost of Discipleship, written in 1937 by the young German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, as a critique of the German Lutheran church offered its support for the regime of Hitler. Bonhoeffer was undoubtedly one of the most prominent theologians of the twentieth century, both in his writings and by his actions and his martyrdom. Despite only living thirty-nine years, he left a theological and ethical legacy is studied worldwide even today"]
