Islam dan Etika Pluralisme

Abstract

This article is aimed at exploring some principles of Islam regarding pluralism as well as analyzing how this concept has become a significant element in modern world. Pluralism is one of the most important issues that reemerge in the global era. This may cause conflict among the differences. However, pluralism has strong base from both Qur’an and Hadith; and historical practice in Islam. Islam has acknowledged the difference, but this difference does not mean having no meeting point at all. To solve this difference in democratic society requires such compromise among communities which have conflict. Islam has been teaching the ethics to face this pluralism. The ethics of discussion and thought exchange are the better way to face the difference and live in peaceful life.
