La dimensió escatològica de l'Església [The eschatological dimension of the Church]

Abstract

"Aquesta aportació, tot evitant d’identificar Església i Regne de Déu, destaca que l’Església n’és signe i instrument, és a dir: el fa present i hi apunta. A més, s’hi apunta que en l’Eucaristia l’Església s’hi manifesta i s’hi fa un tast del Regne de Déu. L’Església i l’Eucaristia, doncs, manifesten la comunió amb Déu i amb els pobres i entre nosaltres. Així com Jesucrist anuncia i fa present el Regne, l’Església també ha d’anunciar i fer present el Regne, una presència ja celebrada i tastada en l’Eucaristia de l’Església. Es conclou que l’Església és l’esdeveniment i l’instrument del Regne de Déu quan predica l’Evangeli i celebra els sagraments, l’Eucaristia especialment, però també quan fa experiència de ser la comunitat reconciliada, de ser una unitat en la diversitat, un de sol en Crist. Tanmateix, el Regne encara no s’ha manifestat en la seva plenitud i l’Església pateix, mentre no es manifesti plenament, els límits i les imperfeccions de la seva condició humana, sense deixar de ser, però, ja, ara i aquí, sagrament del Regne, sobretot en l’Eucaristia" ["This contribution, while avoiding identifying the Church with the Kingdom of God, highlights the fact that the Church is a sign and instrument of it, in other words, it causes it to be present and points towards it. Furthermore, it is noted that in the Eucharist the Church is made manifest and a taste of the Kingdom of God is given. Thus, the Church and the Eucharist manifest communion with God and with the poor as well as amongst ourselves. In this way, just as Jesus Christ announces and makes present the Kingdom, so the Church, too, has to announce it and make it present, with aa presence that is celebrated and enjoyed in the Eucharist of the Church. It is concluded that the Church is how the Kingdom of God takes place and is its instrument when the Gospel is preached and the sacraments celebrated, especially the Eucharist, but also when it shares the experience of being a reconciled community, of being a unity within diversity, one in Christ. However, the Kingdom has not been made manifest in all its fullness and, as long as this is so, the Church suffers from the limits and imperfections of its human condition and yet without ceasing to be, already in the here and now, the sacrament of the Kingdom, especially in the Eucharist"]
