Abstract
The article aims to analyze the formulas of faith quoted by Paul in order to identify the conception of Christ in them this title. The collation of such an understanding with the use of the term in the Jewish context identifies continuities and ruptures existing between the Jewish Messiah and Christ Jesus. It is argued in favor of the hypothesis that the Christian community has appropriated the title originally Israeli, giving new meaning to it: the dead and risen Jesus goes on to define the meaning of Χριστός. What enabled this adaptation was the seizure of the death and resurrection event as revelation of God Himself. Just as the Messiah awaited by Israel should re-establish the relationship between the people and God, it was understood that Jesus Christ restored communion, bringing a new time, not limited, but only to Israel"]
