Abstract
"This paper explores the relevance of a Christian theology of creation in the light of the changing climate for ecumenical dialogue, both in the sense of a deeper awareness of cultural and political globalization and also in the literal sense of climate change. I argue that an adequate theology of creation, while taking its cue from reflections on the relevant biblical texts and theological traditions, also concerns itself with liturgical practices. In a joint statement with the ecumenical Patriarch Bartholo-mew I, Pope John Paul II encouraged the Catholic community to undergo an ecological conversion."
