Abstract

"O presente artigo explora o tema da tolerância e a sua urgência diante de questões como a alteridade e o preconceito, através de uma leitura da história dos X-Men, apresentada na trilogia cinematográfica encerrada no início deste século. Os super-heróis mutantes foram criados em 1963 e carregam todos os medos e esperanças de um período pós-guerra e de transformações sociais. Este artigo revela que, para o exercício da tolerância, a mobilização de vários elos da teia social é necessária. Para discutir a tolerância, os filmes dos X-Men se tornam emblemáticos no que tange as relações humanas entre pessoas de diferentes etnias, culturas e crenças. O presente artigo aponta a prática da tolerância como perspectiva para a convivência pacífica, baseada na compreensão do amor tal como proposta pelo teólogo dinamarquês Søren Kierkegaard" ["This article explores the theme of tolerance and the urgency on issues such as otherness and prejudice, through a history of the reading of the X-Men film trilogy presented in closed earlier this century.
