Do Bode Expiatório à Galinha Preta [From Scapegoat to Black Chicken]

Abstract

"Este artigo retoma um dos capítulos da minha dissertação de mestrado, onde são problematizadas duas posturas analíticas referentes ao tema do sacrifício. A dissertação teve por objeto de análise o rito sacrificial de animais no contexto de uma das religiões afrobrasileiras, a Quimbanda ou Umbanda Cruzada. Atenho-me a duas referências, que considero fundamentais: René Girard e Marcel Mauss & Henri Hubert. René Girard é um antropólogo e crítico literário contemporâneo. Sua obra propõe uma análise sobre o sacrifício que, polêmica, merece a referência. Mauss e Hubert são meus mapas de navegação para a compreensão do fenômeno. É a partir de suas análises que reflito sobre o sacrifício na Quimbanda, partindo daí para águas mais profundas. Uma breve apresentação, portanto, de duas linhas teóricas diferentes na apreciação do tema" ["It takes over one of the chapters of my dissertation, which are problematized two analytical positions for the sacrifice theme.
