Abstract
"In his study of Pauline benedictions and doxologies, L. G. Champion classified these into three groups (to be noted below), but he did not establish a formula for either the benedictions or the doxo1ogies.l Furthermore, although he related the origin of NT benedictions and doxologies to the LXX and synagogue worship, he did so on a thematic basis rather than exploring the path of literary relationship; and, in fact, the examples he cites from the LXX are mostly not benedictions at all, either in form or in theme"
