Competencia comunicativa del profesorado y desarrollo emocional de los adolescentes

Abstract

Constituye un objetivo fundamental en educación gestionar un clima de aula emocionalmente positivo que favorezca el aprendizaje, el desarrollo social y emocional de los alumnos y la convivencia. Durante la etapa de Educación Secundaria, los adolescentes se encuentran en un proceso de conocimiento de sí mismos y de los demás que, en ocasiones, les genera grandes dosis de estrés y tensión. La competencia comunicativa del profesorado desempeña un papel determinante en la transmisión de apoyo y bienestar emocional al alumno. En este trabajo analizamos los recursos y estrategias comunicativas que emplean docentes de secundaria para favorecer su interacción con los alumnos, promover la interacción con los iguales y crear un clima positivo de aula. Los resultados revelan, por una parte, que los profesores no son conscientes en más de un 80% de los casos de los comportamientos comunicativos que manifiestan en sus interacciones con los alumnos y, por tanto, no hacen una utilización estratégica de los mismos. Por otra parte, observamos que las conductas comunicativas ilustrativas de apoyo emocional que manifiesta el profesorado varían en función del tipo de adolescente al que dirija sus mensajes, ajustándose en gran medida aunque de manera inconsciente a las características personales que éstos presentan.

A main aim in education is to manage a emotionally positive climate of classroom that favors the learning, the social and emotional development of the students and the coexistence. In Secondary Education, the adolescents are in a process of knowledge of themselves and the others. Sometimes, that prompt a great stress and tension to them. The communicative competence of teachers plays a determining role in the transmission of support and emotional well-being to the student. In this work we analyze the communicatives resources and strategies that the teachers of secondary school use to favoring its interaction with the students, to promote the interaction with the equals and to create a positive climate of classroom. The results show that the teachers are not conscious (in more of a 80% of the cases) of the communicative behaviors that they express in his interactions with the students and, therefore, do not make a strategic use of them. On the other hand, we observed that the illustrative communicative behavior of emotional support that the teachers express, change depending of the type of adolescent to whom sends its messages, adjusting although of unconscious to the personal characteristics that these present.
