Abstract
Mots clés: science, technologie et innovation, politiques publiques, stratégie de sécurité frontalière, systèmes d’information géographiques, Burkina FasoEnglish AbstractBurkina Faso, like many African countries, is facing the challenge of needing to reinforce its security in the light of growing security threats. The circulation of people and goods across its borders poses security challenges. The effort to deal with these challenges is impeded by the lack of reliable and structured information on these border movements. Analyses allows us to highlight the fluidity levels of border municipalities as well as the strengths and weaknesses of border control mechanisms for goods and people. The main conclusion of this research is that science and technology can constitute important tools for the construction and deconstruction of security regimes in African countries. Keywords: science technology and innovation, public policies, border security strategy, geographic information systems, Burkina Faso
