In this article the authors present the guidelines for the research of andragogue's professional activity In Lithuania. The methodological and theoretical basis for the guidelines has integrated scientific results from two projects, namely GRUNDTVIG The Adult Educator In Knowledge Society and the national project The Development of National Qualification System. The guidelines consist of the following parts: the research scheme of andragogue's professional activity, the methodology for the analysis of andragogical practice and the research instrument for collecting and analysis of the data about andragogical practice. The methodology and research instrument were tested by carrying out a qualitative research. The results presented in this article confirm that andragogical activity can be described through five levels of an adult education system distinguished for achieving different activities: Formation of policies on education, Development of an infrastructure for education, Development and delivery of learning services, Organisation of learning and Learning. It also allows concluding that activities in each level can be implemented assuming two types of actions - managerial and educational. Scientific research that is presented in the article was carried out in the project "Guidelines for the legitimation of andragogue's profession", which was funded by Lithuanian State Science and Studies Foundation.Date
