Abstract
To solve the problems of concrete quality and ecology the Russian science has been efficiently using wastes of chemical, metallurgical, biomedical and food production in construction for 70 years at the same time improving environment. The beginning of the ХХI century was marked by the appearance of the term
«nanotechnology». The first softener, invented 70 years ago, made it possible to create heavy-duty and super durable concrete which was used in construction of the Ostankino tower, the highest tower in the world. It successfully withstood 1000-degree fire in 2000 though common Portland cement was employed. This
unique example of scientific research performed in production allowed constructing skyscrapers of reinforced concrete in the ХХI century.
