HUBUNGAN KEBIASAAN MEROKOK DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR PADA MAHASISWA FAKULTAS ILMU KESEHATAN UMM
AbstractSmoking is not just a habit but has become a requirement that if a person does not smoke cigarettes then there is something missing from inside her. Yet the real effect caused by the effects of addiction caused by nicotine in cigarettes that makes most people carried away into a lifelong addiction to tobacco. The year 2008 Dr.Markus Richards and fellow researchers suspect that cigarette smoking may accelerate memory loss and brain damage. From the results of research conducted Dr.Markus addict smokers at the age of learning, will indirectly reduce the quality of learning that will impact on learning outcomes. Survey of school children showed that those who are less good at school's most were smokers.Â They tried to make himself look grown to compensate for their failure in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of smoking habits and academic achievement odd semester at UMM Student Fikes. Method The type of research is cross-sectional study with a sample of 78 respondents Fikes UMM student. The data was collected by distributing questionnaires and then the data is processed by using Spearman formula. The percentage of the value of the smoking habit can be seen that as much as 6.41% or 6 respondents are light smokers, 56.41% or 44 respondents were smokers and the remaining 37.18% or 28 respondents heavy smokers. The percentage of the value of learning achievement of 7.70% or 6 respondents obtained a good achievement, 43.59% or 34 respondents achievement enough, 39.74% or 31 respondents achievement less and the remaining 8.97% or 7 respondents earn less achievement once. Through the analysis with Spearman test was obtained that have a significant relationship between smoking habits and academic achievement odd semester at UMM Student Fikes.Â From this research it is expected that the respondents or students who have the habit of smoking would be much better to immediately stop smoking it. Because the smoking habit that continued to be no direct impact on the reduction in learning achievement.
