授業(英語)の中で教養の芽をどのように育てるか

Abstract

Talking of English class, it is natural that we should teach students English. We should teach them, particularly the four skills of English, that is, how to hear, speak, read and write. As for me in class it is not good enough that we teachers just give knowledge and language skills to students. Class should include the following four ranges, (1) knowledge and skills in English, (2) basic learning attitudes (3) ability to express oneself, (4) culture ; how to live, wide knowledge, orientation to the world, etc. It matters how well we should organize the four ranges in English classes. Here I would like to present you some procedures of my daily English class. In conclusion, I would like to teach students English, expecting that some students say, "I came to understand English better." or "I like English much more." From now on, I will continue to teach English with affection to students under the motto of "All for students" and "Student-centered education".
