Background. Ethics values determine qualitative health care services. Trust is the centre of the patient- physician relationship. This relationship is vital to promote healing, and enhance the effectivenes of care. Patient privacy is grounded in respect for autonomy, right to make informed treatment decisions and make lifestyle choices that optimize their health. Patients should have fair and timely access to a comprehensive range of services. Physicians recognize that they practice in a health system with limited resources, however their primary responsibility is to the individual patients in their care. Physicians also recognize the responsibility to ensure that resources are distributed fairly, effectively and efficiently. Objective. The aim of this study is to assess the main ethics values in the „N“ policlinic. Methods. Pooled analysis of data from 35 physicians was used to estimate the ethics values. Physicians shared information on clinical situations that had posed ethical problems. The clinical situations were classified under these themes- ethics values, financial conflicts of interest, ethics conflicts, respect for patient free and informed consent, privacy and confidentiality, minimizing harm and maximizing benefits. Learnig objectives were developed. Results. The covenant of high trust between physician and patient is central to the practice of medicine. 91% of respondents said that physician- patient communication is ethics. It helps patients to understand and deal with what is happening to them. 77% physicians reported that they are satisfied with the main ethics values in the „N“ policlinic. This indicates a good communication in the policlinic. Informed patients are more satisfied with their care and less apt to change physicians. 83% physicians stated that ethics conflicts can have negative consequences. It might harm a good working relationship. Conclusion. This research forms the basis of the ethics values in the policlinic. It also offers a strategy for integrating ethics into daily teaching activities.Date
