Moral values and principles of Public Health as a disciplineIt is widely accepted, without questioning its justification, that Public Health as a discipline aims to protect and promote individuals’ and society’s health. However, grounding its justification and expressing the reasons for making that aim a valuable one is vital for guiding and implementing public health interventions and evaluating their concordance with that aim. In this article, the ethical values and principles of Public Health are justified, and a call is made for developing a professional code of ethics.
