Abstract
The term foetus is generally used after the first eight weeks of human develoipment following conception. Believers in the Bible as the Word of God support absolute rfespect for the foetus, whereas many contemporary secular philosophers argue that a foetus has no innate right to life and is not a person. This chapter considers both positions.
