Abstract
The Body, The Court, and the Public SphereIs it possible to found a true public sphere in contemporary African societies, or in a context where power remains prisoner of « the spirit of the court »? How are representations of the body, subjectivity, and alterity formulated and expressed in this situation? Does the « spirit of the court » allow for an ethical project likely to set the foundations for an alternative public morality? Through these questions, the author elaborates his thinking on the constitution of political subjectivity in Africa.
