Abstract
Rediscovering the links between science and anarchy to support thinking on “undisciplined” research and its essential responsibilityThis article returns to the etymological roots of the word “communication” to ask how knowledge can become “common” to all, how scientific knowledge can be built up outside the well-worn paths of disciplines. It offers two answers : by developing an ethic of dialogue between “undiscipline” and responsibility, which is only possible by adopting an epistemology that breaks away from the fantasy that Reason is capable of expressing Truth absolutely and totally. In other words, we need the anarchist lessons of Kropotkin and Feyerabend, to whom the construction of scientific knowledge must be governed by the quest for researcher’s emancipation.
