(Verhaltens-)Ökonomik versus (Ordnungs-)Ethik? Zum moralischen Stellenwert von Dispositionen und Institutionen

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag bestimmt das Verhältnis zwischen Verhaltensökonomik und Ordnungsethik. Er entwickelt in acht Thesen das Argument, dass ein methodisch reflektiertes Homo-Oeconomicus-Modell unverzichtbar wichtige Beiträge zu Forschung und Lehre zu leisten vermag: zur Erforschung der situativen Stabilitätsbedingungen moralischer Dispositionen ebenso wie zur Ausbildung gesellschaftlicher Führungskräfte. Aus ordnungsethischer Sicht wird der Verhaltensökonomik empfohlen, sich stärker institutionentheoretisch sowie insbesondere organisationstheoretisch auszurichten.

This paper elaborates on the relationship between behavioral economics and order ethics. In eight steps it develops the argument that a methodologically sound concept of homo oeconomicus can contribute a great deal to both academic research and teaching: it can improve our understanding of the stability conditions of moral dispositions and can inform societal leadership. From the perspective of order ethics, the paper recommends to focus behavioral economics more on the analysis of institutions, especially on organizations.
