PRIORITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT TO THE THIRD MILENIUM START

Abstract

Improving of overall economic situation and social environment can be achieved by adopting a sustainabledevelopment, focusing on improving quality of men's life and environmental health. In the conditions of worseningcrisis of the environment and natural resources is trying to adapt the economic system of competitive market economyand the conditions necessary to ensure an environment able to support sustainable economic development.We should note that the transition to sustainable development requires action at all levels, local, regional,national and international. Understanding, support and involvement of strong local and regional level government,business, civil society at the individual level are therefore of fundamental importance for achieving sustainabledevelopment. Global responsibility requires each country to be aware of the impact it has on the rest of the world. Theglobal responsibility also stresses that sustainability assessments are more significant when they are conducted in aglobal context, rather than in a regional or national level.
