Abstract
Was macht ihn aus?
The text at hand discusses the modern architecture of libraries in Switzerland. Can you define it? What characterizes it? The Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne, the Stadtbibliothek Zofingen and the library of Rechtswissenschaftliches Institut Zürich will be specifically analysed. Based on these three types of libraries a statement about modern architecture of libraries in Switzerland can be made. There will be a short summary about the history, location and the users. Furthermore the library-oriented concept and the facility concept are reviewed. Finally all three libraries will be summarised.
