DiverCity: diversity in the cityIn the last decades, there have been several sociocultural revolutions in the urban space that materialize in the existence of several (sub)cultural groups. In their multiple forms of expression, they question traditional identities and confront them with new ways of looking at the community and the self. Considering this,apart of the Third International Conference for Young Urban Researchers (TICYUrb) held in June 2018, the track DIVERCITY was designed to help participants reflect on the diversity that characterizes the cities.This call asked participants to reflect on the plurality of genres; on sport-practices in urban contexts; on beliefs and religiosities; on cultural and artistic expressions; on (“sub”) urban cultures; on individual aesthetics and fashion as a form of presentation of the “self”; on cultural heritage and urban memories; or on the sexualities and love in urban context. We received incredible contributions from diverse perspectives and standpoints from which we organized six thematic sessions: 1) Urban landscapes and cultural identities through the lens of street art; 2) Urban narratives and and their multiple expressions; 3) Belonging to the city:sociabilities and forms of identity construction and expression; 4) Forgotten diversities? Forms of resistance and appropriation of urban space; 5) Religious expressions in the urban space; 6) Practices of Urban Culture: the city as scene. These are the topics a reader will find enclosed in this book.

Book of abstracts of the Third International Conference of Young Urban ResearchersThe TICYUrb (Third International Conference of Young Urban Researchers) was an international event that aimed to echo frontier research, artistic works and professional practice related to different urban contexts around the world, under an environment of vibrant dialog between academia and society.
 TICYUrb was held in Lisbon from June 18th to June 22nd, 2018 at ISCTE-IUL.
 The conference was split into seven tracks: Collectivecity (the right to the city: 50 years later), Productcity (the city as a product), Divercity (diversity in the city), Fractalcity (the city amid policies), Ucity (utopias and dystopias), TransFearcity (in-security, migrations and racism), Metacity (ways of thinking and making city). TICYUrb intended to act as a bridge between social, human, natural and all other scientific domains.
 This event was a platform for sharing ongoing or recent work at the time, open debate and networking. In parallel with the conference sessions, there were open debates among young professional, exclusive networking sessions, and field excursions, among other activities.
 TICYURB was a collaborative effort of the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-IUL), the Research Center on Socioeconomic Change and Territory (DINAMIA’CET-IUL), the Interdisciplinar Center of Social Sciences (CICS. NOVA), the Institute of Sociology – University of Porto (ISUP) and the School of Architecture of the University of Sheffield (SSoA).

Propaganda and international relations: an outlook in wartimeThe article is a little research, carried out in the seminars of International Relations of the Ph.D. program in History, Studies of Security and Defense. The aim of the work is to highlight the role of propaganda during the conflicts in the contemporary age, particularly during the two World Wars. The propaganda developed during two major conflicts of the '900 as a 'true weapon' and instrument of government policy in international relations, has perfected the techniques of 'news management', and today is a real and relished 'art' applied to guide public opinion in favor of government decisions.
