Studies on the subject of archival history in Turkey are mainly concentrated on the bureaucratical structures of the investigated periods. The unexistance of enough archival materials and studies on the archival application of this periods has forced the researchers to undertake this type of studies. In case of availability of archival materials, understanding and evaluation of the creation and the preparation of the documents could be easier. The aim of this article is to present an important book on the bureaucratical tradition and archival structure of Fatimid period to the readers. This book also gives some crucial Information on historical development of archival studies in The Islamic World under theoretical and methodological bases. Ülkemizde arşivcilik tarihim konu alan araştırmalarda daha çok ilgili dönemlerin bürokratik yap darı incelenmektedir. Bunun nedeni, bu dönemlerle alakalı arşiv uygulamalarına yönelik çalışmaların ve arşiv malzemelerinin bulunmamasıdır. Arşiv malzemesinin bulunduğu durumlarda, o dönemde üretilen belgelerin iç düzenlemeleri hakkında yorumlar yapılabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın asıl konusunu oluşturan Fatımi dönemi ise, bürokratik geleneğin yanı sıra dönemin arşivcilik uygulamaları hakkında önemli bilgiler içeren bir eseri günümüze taşımasıdır. Bu durum, islam dünyası arşivciliğinin hem teorik ve hem de metodik anlamdaki tarihsel sürecinin ortaya konması hususunda önemli bir zemin oluşturmakta; bu tarihsel sürecin öğrenilmesi de mesleki bilincin ve özgüvenin sağlanmasında önemli bir rol oynamaktadır.Date
