Henry E. Ostrom (second from right) makes an appearance at the Chief Club at 1217 1/2 N. Senate Avenue in Indianapolis. Here, he poses with a group of the club's patrons. Ostrom owned a large contracting and construction business and was active in various civic and church groups. In 1942 he sought the Republican nomination for mayor of Indianapolis, but narrowly lost it to Gen. Robert H. Tyndall, who was ultimately elected.Date
