Content: 1. O direito &#224; vida e a &#233;tica da sa&#250;de The right to life and ethics of healthGiovanni Berlinguer (CEDEC, 1993-08-01)Defendendo ser a saúde uma dimensão relevante para a reflexão ética, pois que afeta a própria vida, o autor advoga o direito à saúde opondo-se a concepções para as quais a demanda por saúde deve ser resolvida pelo mercado. Conjuga sua defesa a uma análise dos óbices existentes à realização de tal direito (dentre eles a mercantilização da medicina) e à indicação de alternativas éticas e práticas.<br>Arguing that health, since it is of importance to life itself, is a relevant aspect of ethical judgement, the author makes out a case for a right to health while rejecting market-based accounts of medical care. The hindrances to the achievement of such right, above all the profit-aimed outlook of medicine, are discussed, and ethical ways of dealing with questions of health are pointed out.
