Abstract

This bachelor's thesis deals with further education of undergraduates and graduates of four chosen universities, two of which are public and others are private. It focuses mainly on further formal education. The aim of this paper was to determine the causes and the barriers of participation in further formal education in another field, to map the specifics of this phenomenon and identify the differences depending on the type of the university. This was achieved by using a survey that was developed for the purposes of this paper. The survey expectations were confirmed only partially, the results also showed, that a low participation in further formal education in another field cannot be explained by a shift of preferences towards participation in student professional trainees and massive open online courses. The contribution of this work is an attempt to map the topic that has not been yet sufficiently explored in analysis of further formal education.
