Empoderamiento del paciente con osteoartritis

Abstract

Este estudio de investigación forma parte de un proyecto internacional, con el objetivo de establecer las bases teóricas del empoderamiento y el modelo de una educación empoderadora del paciente.
 El empoderamiento se refiere a la capacidad del individuo para tomar decisiones y ejercer control sobre su vida personal. Este integra seis dimensiones del conocimiento: biofisiológica, funcional, social, ética, experiencial y financiera, y su principal premisa es que el paciente debe tener cubiertas todas sus expectativas de información/conocimiento para poder empoderarse.
 La osteoartritis es una enfermedad degenerativa que comporta dolor, inflamación y pérdida de la funcionalidad del miembro afectado, y reduce la calidad de vida del paciente. La artroplastia primaria es una de las cirugías de traumatología más frecuentes con estancias hospitalarias más cortas, durante las cuales los pacientes se podrían beneficiar de una educación que facilitara su empoderamiento, encaminada a promover la salud, prevenir las complicaciones y que se podría implementar durante todo el proceso quirúrgico.

This research study is part of an international project, with the objective of establishing the theoretical bases of empowerment and the model of a patient empowering education.
 Empowerment refers to an individual's ability to make decisions and exercise control over their personal lives. This integrates six dimensions of knowledge: biophysiological, functional, social, ethical, experiential and financial, and its main premise is that the patient must have covered all their information / knowledge expectations to be empowered.
 Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease that causes pain, inflammation and loss of function of the affected limb, and reduces the quality of life of the patient. Primary arthroplasty is one of the most frequent surgeries of traumatology with shorter hospital stays, during which patients could benefit from an education that facilitated their empowerment, aimed at promoting health, preventing complications and that could be implemented throughout the surgical process.
