The effort of governmental and private entities to improve the stock market has stimulated financial education on undergraduate curriculum. In the subjects, however, there is prevalence of theoretical exposition when, in fact, the stock market complexity demands didactic resources that approach the practice. In terms of management education, Business Games have been used as learning technique so as to improve the educational processes in Business Administration field, hence creating conditions to overcome the difficulties faced by teachers while teaching complex subjects. The study focused on analyzing the cognitive domain acquired by the participants of an educational program on securities market, where a business game for stock market purposes was applied. The developed program was applied in different ways in terms of timing and intensity for two undergraduate classes at a given government owned university in the State of Rio de Janeiro. As a tool to the business game it was applied the BM&FBOVESPA stock simulator application. The descriptive research with a quantitative approach has made use of a technical procedure defined quasi-experiment, in which there is a comparison of the score average variation for tests applied during the application program by means of a nonparametric statistical test, U de Mann Whitney. The comparison of results has lead to quite significant statistical differences related to the cognitive domain acquisition among students participating in the research indicating that coordinators and teachers responsible for capital market subject can provide more efficient training in case they add the use of Business Games to the practicing of concepts and theories.
