Inclusive education is a western concept that as a result of international initiative such as the Salamanca framework has gathered momentum elsewhere in the world. The interpretation of the term inclusion is far from simple and there are complexities when considering the application of western ideas in Asian situations. This paper explores the ways in which inclusion has been constructed as a concept and the means by which it can be understood in cross-cultural research environments.Date
