AbstractThis study investigates the implementation and effects of the integral student care system in the primary schools on St. Maarten Netherlands Antilles. The student care system is an important tool in inclusive education. Qualitative and quantitative research techniques were combined: structured interviews, analysis of statistical information and case studies. The implementation of the system differed per school, the main effects were more individual attention for students, more student tracking and slightly more parental involvement. Recommendations are an organizational schedule for everyone in student care and a standard digital student tracking system.
